Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Emanuel Sena kicked off to start the match. The supporters of Morere booed when Mataripe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patrício Pernambucano didn't get a good kick on the ball. 6 minutes into the match, Morere's Jano Mineiro broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Roberto Cunha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tadeu de Alcântara in the 8th minute of play. Gerson Lima took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 10th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Roberto Cunha. Mataripe's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tadeu de Alcântara in the 15th minute of play forced Mataripe's goalkeeper Roberto Cunha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pedrão de Barros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from João Paulo Tinoco, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Lauro Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 24th minute, Tadeu de Alcântara got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Morere's Lauro Costa got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tadeu de Alcântara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Roberto Cunha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Gildo Vergílio fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mataripe's protests and gave Gildo Vergílio a yellow card for diving instead. With a little luck, Mataripe's Roberto Cunha got control of the ball when Lauro Costa tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Tadeu de Alcântara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 40thth minute of the game Tadeu de Alcântara who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mataripe's Roberto Cunha was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Roberto Cunha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tadeu de Alcântara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tadeu de Alcântara to strike the kick off in the second half. Roberto Cunha stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lauro Costa's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. If Lauro Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 60 minutes into the match, Mataripe's goal looked a bit too open when Lauro Costa came free, but Roberto Cunha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Tadeu de Alcântara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Mataripe's Patrício Pernambucano got a free kick in the 69th minute. Jano Mineiro, 70 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. When Lauro Costa came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Morere fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lauro Costa couldn't finish the play. If Emanuel Sena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 80 minutes, Lauro Costa put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Roberto Cunha. In the 86th minute Tadeu de Alcântara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roberto Cunha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Roberto Cunha stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lauro Costa's shot from short distance in the 89th minute. Pedrão de Barros made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when João Paulo Tinoco sent off a good shot on target. For all the effort they put into the match, the Mataripe players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Morere.
