Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Maurício Moreira made the kick off and thus started the match. Caetano Sena took the ball and in the 7 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mazinho Amaral. Mazinho Amaral dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 13th minute Caetano Sena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mazinho Amaral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Christiano de Carvalho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Mazinho Amaral tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 23 played minutes Abacate EC got a freekick which was hit by Marco Cordeiro. In the 24th minute, Hernani Silva got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Maurício Moreira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Fábio Fantini having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hernani Silva got free with Luís Fábio Fantini in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Maurício Moreira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 42 minutes into the game, Marco Cordeiro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Abacate EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Garhaubinha the free kick. After 42 played minutes Abacate EC got a freekick which was hit by Marco Cordeiro.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Caetano Sena was the one to do the kick off. Caetano Sena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Abacate EC's Luís Fábio Fantini played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hernani Silva in the 55th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Garhaubinha's zone, Christiano de Carvalho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mazinho Amaral came out of the goal and Christiano de Carvalho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 59 played minutes Garhaubinha got a freekick which was hit by Orlando Madureira. Luís Fábio Fantini showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hernani Silva, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Garhaubinha's Chicão Costa was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Luís Fábio Fantini in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. When Caetano Sena came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Abacate EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Caetano Sena couldn't finish the play. Mazinho Amaral made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Christiano de Carvalho sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Abacate EC booed when Garhaubinha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Germano Valle didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 77 minutes, Orlando Madureira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Garhaubinha and the Abacate EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 78th match minute, Garhaubinha was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Orlando Madureira to maneuver through the defense. 80 minutes into the match, Caetano Sena dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Mazinho Amaral, 0-2. If Christiano de Carvalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Abacate EC's Caetano Sena got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Garhaubinha's zone, Caetano Sena stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mazinho Amaral came out of the goal and Caetano Sena tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
