Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Durval Mesquita took the kick off in the first half of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Durval Mesquita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chopeiro SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Durval Mesquita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Andrézinho Ceresso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 6 minutes into the game, Décio de Barros was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Chopeiro SS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ibitiruna SS the free kick. Décio de Barros kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. The supporters of Chopeiro SS booed when Ibitiruna SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Albertino Guimarães didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Frank Chaves came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the Chopeiro SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Frank Chaves couldn't finish the play. Frank Chaves could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Andrézinho Ceresso made a huge save. With a little luck, Ibitiruna SS's Andrézinho Ceresso got control of the ball when Frank Chaves tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Chopeiro SS's Durval Mesquita in the 23rd minute got a chance for a shot 23rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Frank Chaves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 44th minute Albertinho Pinho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dráuzio Melo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Albertinho Pinho to make the kick off. After having played for 52 minutes, Durval Mesquita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chopeiro SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Durval Mesquita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 53rd match minute, Ibitiruna SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Albertino Guimarães to maneuver through the defense. If Albertinho Pinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Andrézinho Ceresso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Durval Mesquita, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Andrézinho Ceresso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Durval Mesquita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 71 minutes into the match, Chopeiro SS's goal looked a bit too open when Albertinho Pinho came free, but Dráuzio Melo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dráuzio Melo made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Armandinho Cardozo sent off a good shot on target. Dráuzio Melo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Albertinho Pinho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Armandinho Cardozo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Felippe Quaresma, 85 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Ibitiruna SS's Andrézinho Ceresso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Durval Mesquita in the 89th minute of play.
