Chopeiro SS's Franklin Tasso suffered a fractured collar bone after 7 minutes and couldn't finish the game. 7 minutes into the game, Jeferson Perez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Capane's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Chopeiro SS the free kick. In the 8th match minute, Capane was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jeferson Perez to maneuver through the defense. In the 11th minute, Fellipe Sá left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Capane fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Joaquim Peixoto charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Joaquim Peixoto the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sidnei Tavares got free with Agnaldo de Godoy in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Durval Mesquita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Durval Mesquita's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Agnaldo de Godoy read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. Durval Mesquita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Capane's Agnaldo de Godoy got control of the ball when Durval Mesquita tried to sneak it across the goal line. Joaquim Peixoto struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Dráuzio Melo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Capane. In the 46thth minute of the game Fellipe Sá who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Chopeiro SS's Dráuzio Melo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The Chopeiro SS players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Capane were winning 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Durval Mesquita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind Chopeiro SS's goalkeeper Dráuzio Melo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Capane's Agnaldo de Godoy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Durval Mesquita in the 60th minute of play. 62 minutes into the match, Durval Mesquita had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Agnaldo de Godoy. Capane's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Durval Mesquita was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. The audience held their breath when Manoel da Costa in the 69th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Agnaldo de Godoy's left hand side. After 73 played minutes Capane got a freekick which was hit by Jeferson Perez. In the 74th minute Manoel da Costa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Agnaldo de Godoy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jeferson Perez hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. The supporters of Chopeiro SS booed when Capane was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fellipe Sá didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 79 played minutes Capane got a freekick which was hit by Tibúrcio Vergílio. In the 81st minute, Durval Mesquita made a precise shot to the right of Agnaldo de Godoy. Capane's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Durval Mesquita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Agnaldo de Godoy having to interfere. Joaquim Peixoto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dráuzio Melo having to interfere. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
