The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Wilton Mello kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. In the 8th minute the ball was on its way in behind Glorinha SS's goalkeeper Alessandro Carioca, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Alessandro Carioca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amauri Mangueira, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Alessandro Carioca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aílton de Alcântara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Glorinha SS booed when Taquaritinga AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paulinho Esteves didn't get a good kick on the ball. Válter Castro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Rafinha de Lara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Válter Castro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Amauri Mangueira charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Amauri Mangueira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Amauri Mangueira hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Rafinha de Lara made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Válter Castro sent off a good shot on target. Alessandro Carioca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aílton de Alcântara, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. In the 40th minute, Glorinha SS's Ian Saldanha ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Rafinha de Lara. Rafinha de Lara yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Wilton Mello hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Aílton de Alcântara managed to get in a good position for a shot. Taquaritinga AD's supporters rose to their feet, but Aílton de Alcântara was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alessandro Carioca breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Alessandro Carioca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amauri Mangueira in the 57th minute of play. Amauri Mangueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Aílton de Alcântara managed to get in a good position for a shot. Taquaritinga AD's supporters rose to their feet, but Aílton de Alcântara was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alessandro Carioca breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Amauri Mangueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Amauri Mangueira came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Taquaritinga AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Amauri Mangueira couldn't finish the play. Amauri Mangueira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Aílton de Alcântara could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Alessandro Carioca made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Glorinha SS's Wilton Mello got a free kick in the 73rd minute. After 76 played minutes, Taquaritinga AD's Cristóvão Peixoto shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Alessandro Carioca came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Taquaritinga AD reached it. When Enéas Bezerra fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Taquaritinga AD's protests and gave Enéas Bezerra a yellow card for diving instead. In the 78th match minute, Taquaritinga AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Enéas Bezerra to maneuver through the defense. Ian Saldanha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Rafinha de Lara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ian Saldanha might have been able to make a better finish in the 81st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rafinha de Lara. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ian Saldanha ran back to his position shaking his head. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Válter Castro during the 84th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Taquaritinga AD booed when Glorinha SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Válter Castro didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Taquaritinga AD's Enéas Bezerra got a free kick in the 91st minute. In the 93rd minute, Ian Saldanha got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 94th minute, Aílton de Alcântara left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Taquaritinga AD fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
