The supporters of Chiqueiro booed when Pratijipe SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kauã Pires didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dinei Leme hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antônio Carlos Quadros in the 14th minute of play forced Pratijipe SS's goalkeeper Raúl Massa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cido Zanette sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eliézer Varela showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agnaldo Tinoco, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. If Agnaldo Tinoco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Antônio Carlos Quadros to make the kick off. In the 53rd match minute, Chiqueiro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Washington Barros to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Mateus Dias managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pratijipe SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Mateus Dias was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eliézer Varela breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Agnaldo Tinoco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Chiqueiro's zone, Agnaldo Tinoco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eliézer Varela came out of the goal and Agnaldo Tinoco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 78th minute, Mateus Dias left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Pratijipe SS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Cido Zanette's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 83rdth minute, Raúl Massa skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. With an all-out effort, Chiqueiro's Raúl Massa threw himself towards the right post 89 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Antônio Carlos Quadros, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Agnaldo Tinoco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Eliézer Varela tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the Chiqueiro players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Pratijipe SS.
