The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Estendeslau SS booed when Vassoural AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dário Azevedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 6 minutes, Samuel Cearense managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vassoural AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Samuel Cearense was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Samuel Cearense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dadá de Almeida having to interfere. Dadá de Almeida made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Sebastião Quirino sent off a good shot on target. Samuel Cearense was extremely unlucky when he, in the 13th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Luizinho Lima sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Estendeslau SS booed when Vassoural AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tostão Moreno didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Estendeslau SS's Dráuzio Paranaense tried to score from far away in the 32nd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 33rd minute, Jacinto Vasconcelos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 36 minutes into the match, Estendeslau SS's goal looked a bit too open when Samuel Cearense came free, but Dadá de Almeida reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Samuel Cearense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 44th minute, Sebastião Quirino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Estendeslau SS's Dadá de Almeida proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save Estendeslau SS from getting a goal against them. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Samuel Cearense stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Giuseppe Pontes charged in rather forcefully in the 54th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Giuseppe Pontes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 54 played minutes Estendeslau SS got a freekick which was hit by Giuseppe Pontes. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Matheus Guedes during the 60th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 62nd minute of the match Dário Azevedo shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dadá de Almeida showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Manuel de Mendonça sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 69 played minutes Vassoural AD got a freekick which was hit by Dário Azevedo. Rui Valle was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Manuel de Mendonça showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-2 in the 73 minute of play. Samuel Cearense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Dadá de Almeida tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Sebastião Quirino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luizinho Lima sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 89 minutes of play, Estendeslau SS's Frank Moraes made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rui Valle was left in no man's land by his defense there! The attack was good, but when Samuel Cearense in the 94th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Estendeslau SS's Dadá de Almeida played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Samuel Cearense in the 96th minute of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Estendeslau SS walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
