Ibitipora's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mirassol FC the free kick. Adrianinho Brito took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aníbal Matorin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 19 played minutes Mirassol FC got a freekick which was hit by Luiz Fábio Correia. After 25 played minutes Mirassol FC got a freekick which was hit by Tiaguinho Leal. In the 28th minute, Aníbal Matorin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. William Maia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luizão Rezende in the 33rd minute of play. Aníbal Matorin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adrianinho Brito having to interfere. 41 minutes into the match, Mirassol FC's Nestor Bittencourt broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Cristian da Silveira kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Vivaldo Cunha made a kick off. Luizão Rezende could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but William Maia made a huge save. Vivaldo Cunha might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over William Maia. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Vivaldo Cunha ran back to his position shaking his head. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vivaldo Cunha in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg William Maia saved Mirassol FC from getting behind. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Artur de Queirós during the 60th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 60th minute, Artur de Queirós hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 65th minute, Aníbal Matorin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 71st minute Luiz Fábio Correia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adrianinho Brito saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luiz Guilherme de Lara struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Adrianinho Brito didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mirassol FC. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aníbal Matorin in the 76th minute of play forced Ibitipora's goalkeeper Adrianinho Brito to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 81 minutes, Vivaldo Cunha managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ibitipora's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vivaldo Cunha was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Ibitipora eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
