Maloca's Cristian Palmeira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nuno Arantes in the 5th minute of play. 6 minutes into the match, Tupiniquins EC's Angelo Ribeiro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cristian Palmeira narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With his leg Cristian Palmeira managed to avoid a goal in the 7thth minute, when Tupiniquins EC's Angelo Ribeiro fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Cristian Palmeira came out of the goal in the 8th minute to try and stop a shot by Tupiniquins EC's Nuno Arantes. But to his dismay, Nuno Arantes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. If Angelo Ribeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cristian Palmeira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nuno Arantes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Percival Branco during the 14th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Maloca getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Percival Branco hit a great ball. In the 16th minute, one of Maloca:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Maloca. The goalkeeper, Cristian Palmeira, was totally fooled by Tupiniquins EC's Ricardo Madureira, who 18 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Daniel Ceresso hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. After 28 minutes, Ernani Viana mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Maloca and the Tupiniquins EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ernani Viana kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. Nuno Arantes struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Cristian Palmeira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tupiniquins EC. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Geovânio Faustino in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cristian Palmeira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Tadeu Moraes succeeded in the game's 40th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-1. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

53 minutes into the game, Luiz Fábio Duarte was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Maloca's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tupiniquins EC the free kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Geovânio Faustino during the 58th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 58th minute, Geovânio Faustino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tadeu Moraes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Augusto Netto having to interfere. If Angelo Ribeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cristian Palmeira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nuno Arantes in the 63rd minute of play. In the 69th minute of the match Ricardo Madureira sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cristian Palmeira skillfully saved the ball. Angelo Ribeiro struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Cristian Palmeira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tupiniquins EC. When Nilson Soares fell near the penalty area in the 76th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tupiniquins EC's protests and gave Nilson Soares a yellow card for diving instead. During the 77th minute of the match Geovânio Faustino completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Geovânio Faustino a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After a rather tough play, Tupiniquins EC's Geovânio Faustino got a free kick in the 78th minute. With his leg Augusto Netto managed to avoid a goal in the 81stth minute, when Maloca's Tadeu Moraes fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After a defensive mix-up in Tupiniquins EC's zone, Tadeu Moraes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Augusto Netto came out of the goal and Tadeu Moraes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cristian Palmeira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Angelo Ribeiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 91st minute Angelo Ribeiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristian Palmeira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristian Palmeira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Angelo Ribeiro in the 94th minute of the match. Tupiniquins EC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
