Gino Matorin's late challenge caught a Arumim FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aluísio Dante showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wiliam Pires, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Gino Matorin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Aluísio Dante read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. When the match had gone on for 34 minutes, Wiliam Pires put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Aluísio Dante. Luís Fábio Barreto hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wiliam Pires in the 44th minute of play forced Arumim FC's goalkeeper Aluísio Dante to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 45th minute, Ramón Bastos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, Sereno's Ernani Paiva tried to score from far away in the 46th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. The Arumim FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Sereno were winning 0-1.

In the 57th minute Adelino Veiga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Vítor Maia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bebeto Campidelis hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. In the 60th minute of the match, Ernani Paiva sent away a good long shot that could have become a goal, but Aluísio Dante showed an example of his skillful tending and made the save just under the crossbar.
