Doriva Correia's late challenge caught a Maruda's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Doriva Correia helped the player get up and apologised. In a very dangerous position, a player in Miritiba AD fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 4th minute. Penalty! Miritiba AD:s Dida Arantes showed great skill when he stopped Evaristo Moraes:s penalty. Fabrício do Vale succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 9th playminute. Fabiano Favoretto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 22 minutes into the match, Maruda's goalkeeper Sílvio Luís Neves had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fabrício do Vale. A collision led to Maruda getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Cícero Alagoano hit a great ball. Fabiano Favoretto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Sílvio Luís Neves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fabrício do Vale's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 27thth minute, Sílvio Luís Neves skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Dida Arantes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Léo Bezerra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Fabrício do Vale had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcel de Sena's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dida Arantes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. Dida Arantes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcel de Sena in the 42nd minute of the match. Miritiba AD's Dida Arantes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcel de Sena in the 44th minute of play. Falcão Perez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Sílvio Luís Neves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rubinho Xavier in the 52nd minute of play. Dida Arantes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marcel de Sena in the 54th minute. In the 57th minute Fabiano Favoretto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sílvio Luís Neves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sílvio Luís Neves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabrício do Vale, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Fabrício do Vale sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Marcel de Sena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dida Arantes having to interfere. After 72 played minutes Maruda got a freekick which was hit by Cícero Alagoano. João Vítor Batista kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. After having played for 80 minutes, Fabrício do Vale managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Miritiba AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fabrício do Vale was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Léo Bezerra struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Dida Arantes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Maruda. Fabrício do Vale sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fabrício do Vale fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sílvio Luís Neves having to interfere. Fabiano Favoretto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marcel de Sena recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 97th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Miritiba AD were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Maruda for a fine match.
