Spectators: 33 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Victor Mendes kicked off to start the match. José Augusto Maia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reginaldo Vinhas, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Victor Mendes in the 9th minute of play forced Arenosa's goalkeeper Abelardo Pereira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Reginaldo Vinhas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 15 played minutes Moncao got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Eduardo Ribeiro. The supporters of Moncao booed when Arenosa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Josué Romero didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 25th minute João Adolfo Amaral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Augusto Maia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Reginaldo Vinhas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. José Augusto Maia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 31st minute, Elano Arósio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. José Augusto Maia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reginaldo Vinhas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Josué Romero recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Reginaldo Vinhas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Abelardo Pereira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Victor Mendes in the 39th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, João Adolfo Amaral managed to get in a good position for a shot. Arenosa's supporters rose to their feet, but João Adolfo Amaral was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. José Augusto Maia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 45 minutes into the match, Arenosa's goal looked a bit too open when Victor Mendes came free, but Abelardo Pereira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell João Adolfo Amaral to make the kick off. After 53 minutes of play, Moncao's Vânderson da Cunha made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Abelardo Pereira was left in no man's land by his defense there! 57 minutes into the match, Arenosa's goal looked a bit too open when Manolo Mangueira came free, but Abelardo Pereira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manolo Mangueira in the 58th minute of play forced Arenosa's goalkeeper Abelardo Pereira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Manolo Mangueira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Abelardo Pereira was relentless in the 67th minute of the game. When Victor Mendes came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Moncao fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Victor Mendes couldn't finish the play. Abelardo Pereira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Victor Mendes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 89th match minute, Arenosa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elano Arósio to maneuver through the defense. In the 90th minute of the match Adalberto Mandrak shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Abelardo Pereira showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Arenosa's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Moncao had won, even though Arenosa had held more of the ball.
