Sílvio Luiz Corrêa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Augusto Maia having to interfere. José Augusto Maia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sílvio Luiz Corrêa in the 7th minute of play. Conrado Pontess short, quick shot in the 9thth minute got José Augusto Maia to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 16 minutes into the game, Conrado Pontes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. José Augusto Maia was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Conrado Pontes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. José Augusto Maia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vânderson da Cunha kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. If Sílvio Luiz Corrêa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Sílvio Luiz Corrêa fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sumidor's protests and gave Sílvio Luiz Corrêa a yellow card for diving instead. The audience was convinced that Sílvio Luiz Corrêa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but José Augusto Maia was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. Manolo Mangueira struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Chico Veloso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Moncao. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Chico Veloso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manolo Mangueira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Victor Mendes was the one to do the kick off. 2-0 became the score in the 58th minute when Sílvio Luiz Corrêa elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 65th minute, Conrado Pontes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 68th minute, Zé Pedro Faustino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Adalberto Mandrak shot from long distance in the 70th minute, but Chico Veloso was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Conrado Pontes in the 72nd minute of play forced Moncao's goalkeeper José Augusto Maia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 76 minutes into the game, Sílvio Luiz Corrêa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. José Augusto Maia was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After having played for 83 minutes, Sílvio Luiz Corrêa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sumidor's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sílvio Luiz Corrêa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sílvio Luiz Corrêa struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. José Augusto Maia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sumidor. When Moncao's Victor Mendes in the 92nd minute got a chance for a shot 92nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Sumidor's goalie prevented a goal. Sumidor walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
