The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Percival Diniz took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 3rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Cléber Romero. Barreira AD's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 8th minute, Guilherme Azevedo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 12th minute, one of Barreira AD:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Barreira AD. The goalkeeper, Cléber Romero, was totally fooled by Balanco SS's Emanuel Saldanha, who 13 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. In the 20th minute Cláudio Passos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anísio Souto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Barreira AD's Tiago Gabriel Queirós got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tiago Gabriel Queirós blasted a shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Anísio Souto having to make a save. After a rather tough play, Balanco SS's Paulinho Amaral got a free kick in the 48th minute.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Romário Quadros to make the kick off. Balanco SS's Anísio Souto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tiago Gabriel Queirós in the 53rd minute of play. After 54 played minutes Balanco SS got a freekick which was hit by Duarte Almeida. Romário Quadros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Balanco SS booed when Barreira AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonardo Souza didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 61 played minutes, Balanco SS's Emanuel Saldanha shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Cléber Romero came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Balanco SS reached it. 73 minutes into the game, Tony Gerber was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Barreira AD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Balanco SS the free kick. Tony Gerber hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. 81 minutes into the match, Balanco SS's goal looked a bit too open when Tiago Gabriel Queirós came free, but Anísio Souto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cláudio Passos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anísio Souto having to interfere. In the 88th minute, Tiago Gabriel Queirós got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 90 minutes into the match, Balanco SS's goal looked a bit too open when Cláudio Passos came free, but Anísio Souto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Balanco SS had won after a very even match.
