Wiliam Salgado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arthur Vides, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. But to his dismay, Ernesto de Medeiros quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in Inambu AD's zone, Célio Galvão stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bebeto Arósio came out of the goal and Célio Galvão tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 18 minutes into the game, Benjamim Lopes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Navio's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Inambu AD the free kick. Benjamim Lopes hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Dito Lara took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 19th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Wiliam Salgado. Navio's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Navio's Wiliam Salgado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ernesto de Medeiros in the 20th minute of play. When Célio Galvão came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Navio fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Célio Galvão couldn't finish the play. 29 minutes into the game, Inambu AD's Ernesto de Medeiros nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Wiliam Salgado made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Célio Galvão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Edgar Carneiro struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Bebeto Arósio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. When Benjamim Lopes was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 45 minutes had been played. Benjamim Lopes hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Clemente Bittencourt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ernesto de Medeiros made a kick off. After 55 minutes Navio's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Dito Lara who took care of the corner kick. In the 64th minute, Clemente Bittencourt made a precise shot to the right of Wiliam Salgado. Navio's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. Adhemar Faria hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. When Dito Lara came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Inambu AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dito Lara couldn't finish the play. Wiliam Salgado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ernesto de Medeiros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
