In the 20th minute, Valdir Viana left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Uvaia fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. In the 31st minute, Dedé Medeiros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 46th match minute, Alvacao SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Durvalino Silva to maneuver through the defense. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cipriano Silva to make the kick off. Uvaia were awarded a corner in the 53th minute after Alvacao SS's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ismael Santos took the corner. In the 56th minute Valdir Viana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Renato Ferreira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cipriano Silva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Uvaia's Renan Severo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save Uvaia from getting a goal against them. Valdir Viana struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Paulo Renato Ferreira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Uvaia. After a defensive mix-up in Uvaia's zone, Luís Eduardo Travassos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Renan Severo came out of the goal and Luís Eduardo Travassos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Uvaia had won after a very even match.
