With a little luck, Capuxu FC's Valdir Rosado got control of the ball when Aluísio de Toledo tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Luís Eduardo Travassos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tiago Coutinho kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Aluísio de Toledo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Valdir Rosado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Capuxu FC's Valdir Rosado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Eduardo Travassos in the 28th minute of play. Aluísio de Toledo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Valdir Rosado came out and tried to block the shot, but Aluísio de Toledo slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 33rd minute. Luís Eduardo Travassos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Alvacao SS's Luís Eduardo Travassos got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 44 minutes, Dorival Almeida managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Alvacao SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dorival Almeida was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee gave Alvacao SS a penalty, 50 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Cristiano da Silveira, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Capuxu FC's Valdir Rosado. 3-0.

Severino Bezerra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo Renato Ferreira having to interfere. Valdir Rosado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aluísio de Toledo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Aluísio de Toledo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Valdir Rosado read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. Paulo Renato Ferreira didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Severino Bezerra went, in the 63rd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. In the 72nd match minute, Capuxu FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ronaldão Braga to maneuver through the defense. In the 75th minute Luís Eduardo Travassos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valdir Rosado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Eduardo Travassos in the 85th minute of play forced Capuxu FC's goalkeeper Valdir Rosado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Capuxu FC's Luciano Recife in the 93rd minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Paulo Renato Ferreira was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Alvacao SS through an amazing save. Capuxu FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
