After 22 minutes of play, Paiolinho SS's Hortêncio Ramalho made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Washington Mazza was left in no man's land by his defense there! 25 minutes into the match, Eduardo Paranaense notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Paiolinho SS's Severino Arce. Severino Arce was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Armandinho Pires kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. 34 minutes into the match, Paiolinho SS's Juan Mazza broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Hortêncio Ramalho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Washington Mazza having to make a save. If Hortêncio Ramalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hortêncio Ramalho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Washington Mazza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Cathe fans cheered their team off the field, for while Paiolinho SS had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
