After 11 played minutes, Guarei AD's Giuseppe Pinho shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Reginaldo Nogueira came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Guarei AD reached it. Reginaldo Nogueira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frederico Massa in the 38th minute of the match. Laerte Prado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ulysses Gaúcho in the 40th minute of play. Giovani Vinhas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reginaldo Nogueira having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Vinícius Quintal made a kick off. If Giovani Vinhas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Frederico Massa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Reginaldo Nogueira having to make a save. Giovani Vinhas scored 1-0 in the 54th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Reginaldo Nogueira, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Afonso Mota during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When Alexandre Cabral fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Guarei AD's protests and gave Alexandre Cabral a yellow card for diving instead. Alexandre Cabral hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. Ulysses Gaúcho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Laerte Prado made a huge save. In the 94th match minute, Peruhibe SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vladimir Bueno to maneuver through the defense. Giovani Vinhas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Reginaldo Nogueira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Guarei AD's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
