When Pontal's Amadeu Queiroz in the 6th minute got a chance for a shot 6th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Carlopolis's goalie prevented a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Juninho Gomes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Carlopolis's supporters rose to their feet, but Juninho Gomes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Oséas Carvalho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 12 minutes, Mané de Azevedo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pontal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mané de Azevedo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Guto Vianna showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amadeu Queiroz in the 14th minute of the match. Amadeu Queiroz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Perivaldo Britto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oséas Carvalho having to interfere. Amadeu Queiroz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Amadeu Queiroz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Mané de Azevedo came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Pontal fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mané de Azevedo couldn't finish the play. Oséas Carvalho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juninho Gomes, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Perivaldo Britto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Oséas Carvalho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Pontal's Oséas Carvalho got control of the ball when Perivaldo Britto tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.
With an all-out effort, Pontal's Guto Vianna threw himself towards the right post 65 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Amadeu Queiroz, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Carlopolis's Guto Vianna played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amadeu Queiroz in the 72nd minute of play. Deivid Azevedo hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Carlopolis defense, Amadeu Queiroz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Guto Vianna. The Carlopolis fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Guto Vianna should have stopped the shot. Mané de Azevedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Mané de Azevedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Carlopolis getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Fiori Matos hit a great ball. If Amadeu Queiroz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 99thth minute of the game Erasmo Faustino who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Carlopolis's Guto Vianna was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Pontal walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
