In the 6th minute Célio Nogueira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Willian Pernambucano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dalmo Pereira's late challenge caught a Cotovello SS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dalmo Pereira helped the player get up and apologised. Zé Carlos Moreira succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 11th playminute. If Zé Carlos Moreira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 19 minutes into the match, Negro's goal looked a bit too open when Caco Braga came free, but Nico Tasso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. João Augusto Botelho charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Negro's Zé Carlos Moreira got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Cotovello SS getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. João Augusto Botelho hit a great ball. Célio Nogueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zé Carlos Moreira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Willian Pernambucano having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Célio Nogueira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Willian Pernambucano was relentless in the 37th minute of the game. In the 44th minute, Zé Carlos Moreira fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Nico Tasso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Caco Braga in the 47th minute of the match.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Célio Nogueira to make the kick off. The audience was convinced that Célio Nogueira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Willian Pernambucano was relentless in the 57th minute of the game. If Zé Carlos Moreira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. Willian Pernambucano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Célio Nogueira in the 69th minute of play. Willian Pernambucano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Célio Nogueira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 79 minutes, Zé Carlos Moreira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Negro's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zé Carlos Moreira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cotovello SS's Willian Pernambucano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zé Carlos Moreira in the 82nd minute of play. When Negro's Zé Carlos Moreira in the 84th minute got a chance for a shot 84th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Cotovello SS's goalie prevented a goal. Célio Nogueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nico Tasso made a fantastic save in the 93rd minute, when Caco Braga sent off a good shot on target. Cotovello SS's Willian Pernambucano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zé Carlos Moreira in the 94th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Cotovello SS's zone, Célio Nogueira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Willian Pernambucano came out of the goal and Célio Nogueira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Negro had played much better football throughout.
