After a defensive mix-up in Dendezeiros's zone, Francisco Alcântara stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcelinho Ramalho came out of the goal and Francisco Alcântara tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 9th minute, Francisco Alcântara left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Muqueca fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 17thth minute of the game Francisco Alcântara who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Dendezeiros's Marcelinho Ramalho was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Eduardo Lira came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Muqueca fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eduardo Lira couldn't finish the play. After 35 minutes, Marcelinho da Fonseca mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Dendezeiros and the Muqueca players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 40th minute, Claudinei Leite hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eduardo Lira spun around in front of the goal 41 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Dendezeiros's goal. When Fausto Sena came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the Dendezeiros fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fausto Sena couldn't finish the play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

In the 53rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Dendezeiros's goalkeeper Marcelinho Ramalho, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Eduardo Lira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Francisco Alcântara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Marcelinho Ramalho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 59th match minute, Muqueca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eliézer Lopez to maneuver through the defense. Marcelinho Ramalho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Francisco Alcântara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Régis Marinho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gildo Vander having to interfere. During the 88th minute of the match Marcelinho da Fonseca completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Marcelinho da Fonseca a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Marcelinho da Fonseca hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. In the 90th minute, Eliézer Lopez sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Dendezeiros's Marcelinho Ramalho didn't even have to move. If Fausto Sena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Muqueca had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
