Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Tibúrcio de Carvalho started the match with the kick off. After 3 played minutes Iturama got a freekick which was hit by Giovani Velloso. Osmar Marinho came out of the goal in the 6th minute to try and stop a shot by Iturama's Tibúrcio de Carvalho. But to his dismay, Tibúrcio de Carvalho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Cresciuma's Osmar Marinho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Paulo Ramos in the 10th minute of play. If Carlos Fernando Mineiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carlos Fernando Mineiro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jorge de Azevedo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. In the 19th minute, Cássio Fernandez ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jorge de Azevedo was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After 24 minutes, Válbson Santos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Iturama and the Cresciuma players grew even worse after the yellow card. Osmar Marinho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tibúrcio de Carvalho in the 34th minute of the match. In the 56th minute, Tibúrcio de Carvalho reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Osmar Marinho. The goal made the score 1-3. After 72 minutes, Marcel Maia mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cresciuma and the Iturama players grew even worse after the yellow card. Iturama's Edinho Novaes couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Cresciuma. João Paulo Ramos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Osmar Marinho having to interfere. An unexpected shot in the 81st minute by João Paulo Ramos got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. With his leg Osmar Marinho managed to avoid a goal in the 86thth minute, when Iturama's João Paulo Ramos fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Fernão Ribeiro charged in rather forcefully in the 87th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fernão Ribeiro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Cresciuma's Fernão Ribeiro got a free kick in the 87th minute. João Paulo Ramos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Osmar Marinho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match was over Iturama could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Cresciuma throughout the match.
