Spectators: 33 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Ian Pontes got the match started through his kick off. After some careless play in the Coivaras FC defense, Roger Pombal kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Carlos Fernando Mangueira. The Coivaras FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Carlos Fernando Mangueira should have stopped the shot. Carlos Eduardo Dias could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 7th minute of the match, but Juvenal Pinheiro made a huge save. Eliseu Rosado hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. José Maria Freire fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Fernando Mangueira having to interfere. Carlos Fernando Mangueira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Maria Freire in the 13th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Roger Pombal in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Carlos Fernando Mangueira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ian Pontes struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Juvenal Pinheiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Coivaras FC. When the match had gone on for 32 minutes, Ian Pontes took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Juvenal Pinheiro to make any attempt to save it. In the 39th minute, Roger Pombal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Carlos Fernando Mangueira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Maria Freire, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. If José Maria Freire had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Palotina were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when José Maria Freire stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Carlos Eduardo Dias recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Carlos Fernando Mangueira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Maria Freire, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. In the 62nd minute, Ian Pontes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Roger Pombal could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Carlos Fernando Mangueira made a huge save. José Maria Freire received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Carlos Fernando Mangueira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carlos Fernando Mangueira made a fantastic save in the 70th minute, when Roger Pombal sent off a good shot on target. When Dorival Novaes fell near the penalty area in the 72nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Coivaras FC's protests and gave Dorival Novaes a yellow card for diving instead. After 72 played minutes Coivaras FC got a freekick which was hit by Dorival Novaes. Ian Pontes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carlos Fernando Mangueira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Juvenal Pinheiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Eduardo Dias in the 94th minute of play. José Maria Freire was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 96th minute. Palotina's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Palotina's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
