When Eliseu Rosado fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Palotina's protests and gave Eliseu Rosado a yellow card for diving instead. In the 21st match minute, Palotina was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eliseu Rosado to maneuver through the defense. 25 minutes into the game, Paulo Medeiros cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Juvenal Pinheiro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Paulo Medeiros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Juvenal Pinheiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 32nd minute, Luciano Baptista got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 34 played minutes Palotina got a freekick which was hit by Eliseu Rosado. Bacupari SS were awarded a corner in the 36th minute after Palotina's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Digo Alves took the corner. Roger Valadares was extremely unlucky when he, in the 47th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The wind increased when Luciano Baptista made the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute there was a penalty for Palotina. Adolfo Catarinense stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Jerônimo Gaspar. 1-1. Luciano Baptista's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Juvenal Pinheiro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. Luciano Baptista blasted a shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Juvenal Pinheiro having to make a save. Luciano Baptista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juvenal Pinheiro having to interfere. José Maria Freire fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jerônimo Gaspar having to interfere. After 72 played minutes Bacupari SS got a freekick which was hit by Luciano Baptista. When Paulo Medeiros came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Bacupari SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paulo Medeiros couldn't finish the play. José Maria Freire blasted a shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jerônimo Gaspar having to make a save. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind Palotina's goalkeeper Juvenal Pinheiro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. José Maria Freire scored 2-1 in the 88th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jerônimo Gaspar, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Bacupari SS's Jerônimo Gaspar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roger Valadares in the 93rd minute of play. Luciano Baptista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juvenal Pinheiro having to interfere. Palotina's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
