Dé Maciel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jairo Nunes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 39th minute, Ulysses Veiga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Silvinho Gaspar to make the kick off. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Sobrado would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
