Joaquim Vianna didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sepetiba EC. After 13 played minutes Munhoz got a freekick which was hit by Benjamim Batista. Duda Melo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Joaquim Vianna read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. After 18 played minutes Munhoz got a freekick which was hit by Silas Valladares. Vitinho Abraão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquim Vianna having to interfere. Carlos Freitas scored 2-1 in the 25th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gilmar da Mata, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Sepetiba EC's Chiquinho Almeida got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Chiquinho Almeida kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Joaquim Vianna was a little too slow when Duda Melo got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 43rd minute. The score was now 3-1. In the 48th minute, Duda Melo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

Gilmar da Mata made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Freitas in the 56th minute of play. Vitinho Abraão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Munhoz's Joaquim Vianna played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Duda Melo in the 59th minute of play. Silas Valladares hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. In the 65th minute of the match Laércio Veloso shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Joaquim Vianna showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After having played for 68 minutes, Dudu Chaves managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Munhoz's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dudu Chaves was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Munhoz's zone, Vitinho Abraão stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joaquim Vianna came out of the goal and Vitinho Abraão tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Sepetiba EC's Vitinho Abraão got a free kick in the 71st minute. Baltazar Branco charged in rather forcefully in the 73rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Baltazar Branco the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Sepetiba EC getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Baltazar Branco hit a great ball. In the 74thth minute Dudu Chaves got a great chance to score trying to place the ball in the top left corner, but Gilmar da Mata was prepared and efficiently stopped the ball from getting in. With splendid footwork Dudu Chaves arrived in front of goal to shoot 4-2 by the left pole in the game's 74th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Duda Melo in the 82nd minute of play forced Munhoz's goalkeeper Joaquim Vianna to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
