Armando Abreu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anselmo Tinoco in the 18th minute of the match. Donato Xavier could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Armando Abreu made a huge save. If Jonas Carioca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Armando Abreu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anselmo Tinoco in the 25th minute of the match. In the 26th minute, Jonas Carioca got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 35th match minute, Goiatuba EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Júnior Souza to maneuver through the defense. After 42 minutes Goiatuba EC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Celso Campidelis who took care of the corner kick. Arí Lira made a great header on Carira FC's corner, it was just that Goiatuba EC's Frederico Gerber managed to reach the ball for a save. 44 minutes into the match, Carira FC's goal looked a bit too open when Anselmo Tinoco came free, but Armando Abreu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Anselmo Tinoco did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Armando Abreu 46 minutes into the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Anselmo Tinoco made a kick off. Armando Abreu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anselmo Tinoco in the 55th minute of play. Goiatuba EC's Frederico Gerber played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronaldão Romero in the 56th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 58 minutes, Ronaldão Romero took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Frederico Gerber to make any attempt to save it. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Donato Xavier managed to get in a good position for a shot. Goiatuba EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Donato Xavier was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Armando Abreu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Carira FC's zone, Anselmo Tinoco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Armando Abreu came out of the goal and Anselmo Tinoco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Goiatuba EC's Frederico Gerber proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to save Goiatuba EC from getting a goal against them. Donato Xavier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Donato Xavier might have been able to make a better finish in the 77th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Armando Abreu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Donato Xavier ran back to his position shaking his head. After 79 played minutes Carira FC got a freekick which was hit by Edvaldo Ferreira. Donato Xavier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Frederico Gerber took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ronaldão Romero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jonas Carioca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Frederico Gerber tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eliézer do Valle charged in rather forcefully in the 94th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eliézer do Valle the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
