Itapeipu SS were awarded a corner in the 50th minute after Peixinho SS's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Lenílson Quadros took the corner. Itapeipu SS's Lenílson Quadros was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Júlio Hames in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mário Tande was the one to do the kick off. Itapeipu SS's Sabino Alcântara played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Evaristo Pontes in the 60th minute of play. Doni Guerra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Sabino Alcântara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 64 minutes into the game, André Luiz Félix was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Itapeipu SS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Peixinho SS the free kick. Evaristo Pontes struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Sabino Alcântara didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Peixinho SS. 75 minutes into the match, Doni Guerra had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sabino Alcântara. Itapeipu SS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Doni Guerra was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-4. Márcio Maia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Júlio Hames having to interfere. In the 84th minute, Mário Tande got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Doni Guerra might have been able to make a better finish in the 87th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sabino Alcântara. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Doni Guerra ran back to his position shaking his head. Sabino Alcântara showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Doni Guerra in the 89th minute of the match. A collision led to Peixinho SS getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Carlos Eduardo Faustino hit a great ball. In the 94th minute Mário Tande shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Júlio Hames saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sabino Alcântara stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Doni Guerra's shot from short distance in the 99th minute. The Peixinho SS fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Itapeipu SS were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
