Carnahyba AD's Jardel Guimarães played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonathan Moura in the 10th minute of play. Jardel Guimarães showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jonathan Moura, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Pedro Paulo Faria recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Antônio Carlos Carioca was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Cesinha Carvalho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cururipe's supporters rose to their feet, but Cesinha Carvalho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jardel Guimarães breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jardel Guimarães stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jonathan Moura's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. In the 57th minute, Cesinha Carvalho made a precise shot to the right of Jardel Guimarães. Carnahyba AD's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Cesinha Carvalho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jardel Guimarães having to interfere. If Jonathan Moura had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ramón Leão hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. A hard shot 96 in the game by Aloísio Rosa from a close distance when the talented Orlando Urbano managed to make a qualified save. Cururipe's players were relieved. Carnahyba AD's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Hames in the 98th minute. Daniel Hames made a great header on Carnahyba AD's corner, it was just that Cururipe's Orlando Urbano managed to reach the ball for a save. There was no doubt that Cururipe were the better team. Cururipe's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
