Cauan Mello showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gildo Donato, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. After 9 played minutes Taquapiri got a freekick which was hit by Claudinei Maranhense. Elder Fernandes shot a long shot in the 9th minute and a light blocked Silvinho Antunes hadn't a chance when the ball went into goal on his right side. It was 1-0. After a rather tough play, Taquapiri's Betão Nogueira got a free kick in the 12th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Joel Ramos in the 19th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cauan Mello prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 22nd minute, Jorginho Vinhas made a precise shot to the right of Silvinho Antunes. Taquapiri's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. In the 26th minute Jorginho Vinhas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Silvinho Antunes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With his leg Silvinho Antunes managed to avoid a goal in the 29thth minute, when Fausto's Zé Velloso fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Zé Velloso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Silvinho Antunes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jorginho Vinhas in the 36th minute of play forced Taquapiri's goalkeeper Silvinho Antunes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 39th minute the ball was on its way in behind Fausto's goalkeeper Cauan Mello, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Cauan Mello made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marquinhos Veiga in the 41st minute of play. In the 46th minute, Gildo Donato hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gildo Donato was the one to do the kick off. Silvinho Antunes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from William Peres, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Fausto's Cauan Mello got control of the ball when Joel Ramos tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 54 played minutes Fausto got a freekick which was hit by Marcus Lopes. 57 minutes into the match, Taquapiri's Gildo Donato sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cauan Mello narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Zé Velloso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Silvinho Antunes having to interfere. After 62 played minutes Fausto got a freekick which was hit by Zé Velloso. In the 64th minute, Gildo Donato fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After 66 minutes, William Peres mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fausto and the Taquapiri players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 66 played minutes Fausto got a freekick which was hit by William Peres. Joel Ramos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Cauan Mello tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 75 minutes into the match, Fausto's goalkeeper Cauan Mello had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Joel Ramos. Elder Fernandes walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. 79 minutes into the match, Taquapiri's goal looked a bit too open when Jorginho Vinhas came free, but Silvinho Antunes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 84th minute Zé Velloso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Silvinho Antunes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marquinhos Veiga charged in rather forcefully in the 87th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marquinhos Veiga the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 87th minute, Marquinhos Veiga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 92 minutes into the match, Taquapiri's Joel Ramos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cauan Mello narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Fausto's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
