Rômulo Madureira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Glauco Favoretto, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. 23 minutes into the match, Uaua's Glauco Favoretto sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rômulo Madureira narrowly saved just below the crossbar. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Cafu Gonçalves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rômulo Madureira having to interfere. When Daniel da Silva came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Eirunepe AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel da Silva couldn't finish the play. If Daniel da Silva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Uaua's zone, Dida de Azevedo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paulão Peixoto came out of the goal and Dida de Azevedo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fábio Mello kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. After 66 played minutes Uaua got a freekick which was hit by Murilo Sena. When Ademir Pirani fell near the penalty area in the 75th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Eirunepe AD's protests and gave Ademir Pirani a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Eirunepe AD's Ademir Pirani got a free kick in the 75th minute. After 76 played minutes, Uaua's Nildo Bertassi shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Rômulo Madureira came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Uaua reached it. Eirunepe AD's Dida de Azevedo got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 80th minute of the match, Glauco Favoretto tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Rômulo Madureira saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Cafu Gonçalves could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 83rd minute of the match, but Rômulo Madureira made a huge save. Daniel da Silva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Paulão Peixoto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
