If Juan Ferraz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ernani Vander made an important save on a dangerous shot by Juan Ferraz in the 30th minute. Juan Ferraz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Ernani Vander tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Juan Ferraz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A collision led to Riachuelo SS getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Júnior da Mata hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Anajas defense, Agenor Albuquerque kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alessandro Duarte. The Anajas fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alessandro Duarte should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Riachuelo SS booed when Anajas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sérgio Mendes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Adhemar de Queiroz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Zacarias Bueno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Adhemar de Queiroz came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Anajas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adhemar de Queiroz couldn't finish the play. Kaká Leal hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Alessandro Duarte took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zacarias Bueno, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Riachuelo SS had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
