Gláuber Novaes scored 0-1 in the 27th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ernani Vander, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 31 minutes into the match, Quandus's goal looked a bit too open when Zacarias Bueno came free, but Luciano Corrêa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Zacarias Bueno to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Riachuelo SS's zone, Felipe Félix stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ernani Vander came out of the goal and Felipe Félix tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ernani Vander took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gláuber Novaes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Zacarias Bueno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zacarias Bueno received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Luciano Corrêa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gláuber Novaes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ernani Vander read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 66th minute of play. The referee ignored Riachuelo SS's protests and gave Kaká Leal a yellow card for diving instead. In the 89th match minute, Riachuelo SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kaká Leal to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agenor Albuquerque in the 93rd minute of play forced Quandus's goalkeeper Luciano Corrêa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zacarias Bueno might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luciano Corrêa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Zacarias Bueno ran back to his position shaking his head. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
