The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 13th minute of the game. One of Canario EC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Tercado AD:s goal. Gualter Rodrigues showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nildo Severo in the 18th minute of the match. In the 19th minute Percival Cruz suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. Edmundo Eger's late challenge caught a Canario EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Edmundo Eger helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Canario EC booed when Tercado AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edmundo Eger didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luiz Fábio Sampaio's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gualter Rodrigues read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. Tostão Tande received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Rubinho Marquez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Didi Silveira got free with Rubinho Marquez in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Nildo Severo kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. Luiz Fábio Sampaio struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Gualter Rodrigues didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Canario EC. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tostão Tande stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Luiz Fábio Sampaio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gualter Rodrigues having to interfere. Didi Silveira scored 2-0 in the 54th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rubinho Marquez, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Rubinho Marquez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tostão Tande in the 62nd minute of the match. Caio Passos's late challenge caught a Canario EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Caio Passos helped the player get up and apologised. Caio Passos hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Gualter Rodrigues made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luiz Fábio Sampaio in the 66th minute. After a rather tough play, Tercado AD's Edmundo Eger got a free kick in the 67th minute. Luiz Fábio Sampaio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rubinho Marquez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Didi Silveira, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Didi Silveira took the ball and in the 82 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rubinho Marquez. Rubinho Marquez dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. In the 87th minute, Nelson Faustino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luiz Fábio Sampaio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gualter Rodrigues having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luiz Fábio Sampaio got free with Gualter Rodrigues in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. For all the effort they put into the match, the Canario EC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Tercado AD.
