Oscar de Souza's late challenge caught a Machacalis SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. In the 14th minute, Juarês Mineiro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Laércio Catarinense was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Brasilania SC's Laércio Catarinense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fábio Antunes in the 43rd minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Fábio Antunes made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Machacalis SC's goalkeeper Thiago Valladares, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Juarês Mineiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 72 played minutes Brasilania SC got a freekick which was hit by Abel da Mata. A collision led to Brasilania SC getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Eusébio Batista hit a great ball. When Eusébio Batista came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Brasilania SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eusébio Batista couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Machacalis SC's zone, Eusébio Batista stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thiago Valladares came out of the goal and Eusébio Batista tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Juarês Mineiro took the ball and in the 89 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Laércio Catarinense. Laércio Catarinense dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Eusébio Batista received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Thiago Valladares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Arí Recife might have been able to make a better finish in the 94th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Thiago Valladares. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Arí Recife ran back to his position shaking his head. When Fábio Antunes fell near the penalty area in the 96th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Machacalis SC's protests and gave Fábio Antunes a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Machacalis SC getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Fábio Antunes hit a great ball.
