Thiago Valladares was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a defensive mix-up in Machacalis SC's zone, Diego Maciel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. An unexpectedly hard shot by Christian de Azevedo in the 47th minute of play forced Machacalis SC's goalkeeper Thiago Valladares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fábio Antunes was the one to do the kick off. Juarês Mineiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iuri Mumbach having to interfere. 63 minutes into the game, Juliapolis FC's Agostinho Ferraz nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot.
