After a rather tough play, Catarinenses's Afonsinho Pinho got a free kick in the 28th minute. With his leg Ian Sá managed to avoid a goal in the 35thth minute, when Cajutino FC's Alessandro Santana fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 37th minute Afonsinho Pinho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joélson Massa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joélson Massa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Léo Paraíba in the 40th minute of play. Afonsinho Pinho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 44 minutes into the match, Cajutino FC's goal looked a bit too open when Léo Paraíba came free, but Joélson Massa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
