Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Luciano Trancoso made the kick off which started today's match. Oscar Pinho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Conrado Cardoso in the 3rd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Itatiaiucu's zone, Alessandro Santana stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Oscar Pinho came out of the goal and Alessandro Santana tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Gugu Xavier managed to get in a good position for a shot. Itatiaiucu's supporters rose to their feet, but Gugu Xavier was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joélson Massa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Cajutino FC's Célio Cruz got a free kick in the 18th minute. After 26 played minutes Cajutino FC got a freekick which was hit by Wilton Saldanha. In the 27th minute, Amadeu Viana sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Cajutino FC's Joélson Massa didn't even have to move. Célio Cruz lost his temper 29 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After some careless play in the Cajutino FC defense, Gugu Xavier kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joélson Massa. The Cajutino FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joélson Massa should have stopped the shot. In the 42nd minute, Alessandro Santana got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 46 minutes, Gugu Xavier managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Itatiaiucu's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gugu Xavier was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 47th match minute, Cajutino FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lino Lira to maneuver through the defense. Joélson Massa came out of the goal in the 50th minute to try and stop a shot by Itatiaiucu's Gugu Xavier. But to his dismay, Gugu Xavier quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alessandro Santana was the one to do the kick off. Alessandro Santana could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Oscar Pinho made a huge save. A collision led to Itatiaiucu getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Donato da Fonseca hit a great ball. Alessandro Santana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 67th minute Gugu Xavier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joélson Massa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Cajutino FC's zone, Gugu Xavier stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joélson Massa came out of the goal and Gugu Xavier tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gugu Xavier received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Joélson Massa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 81st minute, Waldir Faustino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 87 minutes into the game, Itatiaiucu's Gugu Xavier nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Joélson Massa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. Váldson Barreto missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 97 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Oscar Pinho right hand side. Alessandro Santana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 99th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Itatiaiucu fans cheered their team off the field, for while Cajutino FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
