Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Denílson de Queirós took the kick off in the first half of the match. After 3 played minutes, Ipiuna SC's Rubens Loureiro shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Cristian Santana came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ipiuna SC reached it. Luizinho Schmidt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Nilton Britto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 15th minute, Denílson de Queirós got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mário de Azevedo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cristian Santana read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. When Silvério Abraão came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Ipiuna SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Silvério Abraão couldn't finish the play. In the 27th minute, Denílson de Queirós reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Cristian Santana. The goal made the score 1-0. Mário de Azevedo hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. In the 31st minute, Germano Fontes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Luizinho Schmidt's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nilton Britto was relentless in the 33rd minute of the game. After 34 played minutes Ipiuna SC got a freekick which was hit by Olavo Peres. In the 35th minute, Patrício Valadares sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Ipiuna SC's Nilton Britto didn't even have to move. Nilton Britto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luizinho Schmidt in the 36th minute of the match. Luizinho Schmidt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nilton Britto having to interfere. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Almir Sarmento to make the kick off. Nilton Britto didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Luizinho Schmidt went, in the 55th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. After a defensive mix-up in Curumatahy FC's zone, Mário de Azevedo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cristian Santana came out of the goal and Mário de Azevedo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Denílson de Queirós in the 64th minute of play forced Curumatahy FC's goalkeeper Cristian Santana to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Silvério Abraão hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Nilton Britto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Almir Sarmento, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Almir Sarmento in the 75th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nilton Britto prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Almir Sarmento in the 76th minute of play forced Ipiuna SC's goalkeeper Nilton Britto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Curumatahy FC booed when Ipiuna SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Germano Fontes didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Denílson de Queirós managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ipiuna SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Denílson de Queirós was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cristian Santana breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Duarte Sarmento fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nilton Britto having to interfere. Almir Sarmento's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nilton Britto read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 96th minute of play.
