Jeferson Félix took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Davi Luz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 15 played minutes Assiz EC got a freekick which was hit by Nilson de Queirós. After 18 played minutes Viegas got a freekick which was hit by Tomé Sena. In the 23rd minute, Assiz EC's Jaime Paraibano dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luizinho de Sena got free with Emerson Pires in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 28 minutes into the game, Jaime Paraibano lined in a short shot 2-0 behind a frustrated Emerson Pires. Viegas's Davi Luz got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Davi Luz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Jeferson Félix tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jaime Paraibano was the one to do the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Viegas's goal looked a bit too open when Jaime Paraibano came free, but Emerson Pires reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 55th minute Jaime Paraibano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emerson Pires saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luizinho de Sena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Emerson Pires tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 64th minute Luís Guilherme Breckenfeld shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emerson Pires saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Viegas's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. Emerson Pires showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Belchior Jacinto, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Eliézer Cardoso could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Jeferson Félix made a huge save. Assiz EC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
