Match Report

Estádio Mirando
Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0)
The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Erik Soares got the match started through his kick off. Jonathan Queirós made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elias Vasconcelos in the 6th minute of play. Horácio Leal hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erik Soares in the 14th minute of play forced Ibitirucu's goalkeeper Sílvio de Amaral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Mirando's Dudu Simões got a free kick in the 17th minute. In the 21stth minute of the game Erik Soares who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ibitirucu's Sílvio de Amaral was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Erik Soares blasted a shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sílvio de Amaral having to make a save. Téo Messias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sílvio de Amaral having to interfere. In the 25th minute, Mirando's Erik Soares ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Sílvio de Amaral. Sílvio de Amaral yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. With a little luck, Ibitirucu's Sílvio de Amaral got control of the ball when Téo Messias tried to sneak it across the goal line. Sílvio de Amaral was out of position in the 37 minute of play, and Erik Soares capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Erik Soares really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. When Erik Soares came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Mirando fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Erik Soares couldn't finish the play. In the 46th minute Erik Soares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sílvio de Amaral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Elias Vasconcelos to make the kick off. Mirando were furious when Tomé Arruda was red carded, 53 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 61 minutes into the match, Ibitirucu's goal looked a bit too open when Alex Tasso came free, but Sílvio de Amaral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eriberto Recife kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. In the 63rd minute of the match Dudu Simões sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sílvio de Amaral skillfully saved the ball. Marcos Alvarenga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 68 minutes, Erik Loureiro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mirando and the Ibitirucu players grew even worse after the yellow card. Erik Loureiro hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Edvaldo Sarmento, 69 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 77th minute, Téo Messias got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Téo Messias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sílvio de Amaral having to interfere. Téo Messias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Sílvio de Amaral tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Téo Messias struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Sílvio de Amaral didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mirando. Erik Loureiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Téo Messias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 91 minutes, Erik Loureiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mirando's supporters crossed their fingers, but Erik Loureiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 97th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ibitirucu's goalkeeper Sílvio de Amaral, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Mirando were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
