Caraguata SS's Betinho Berger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juan Sena in the 9th minute of play. When Juan Sena came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Matao SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Juan Sena couldn't finish the play. In the 14th match minute, Caraguata SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tiaguinho Souza to maneuver through the defense. If Roger Castro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Matao SC's Severino Leal got control of the ball when Roger Castro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Simão de Carvalho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Severino Leal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 26 minutes into the match, Caraguata SS's Roger Castro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Severino Leal narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Simão de Carvalho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Severino Leal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 37 minutes into the match, Matao SC's goal looked a bit too open when Simão de Carvalho came free, but Severino Leal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hílton Marinho took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 39th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Severino Leal. Matao SC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 46 played minutes Matao SC got a freekick which was hit by Amauri Duarte.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Simão de Carvalho stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Zé dos Santos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Caraguata SS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Matao SC the free kick. In the 52nd minute, Zé dos Santos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Roger Castro took the ball and in the 61 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Severino Leal. Severino Leal dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. After 66 minutes of play, Caraguata SS's Simão de Carvalho made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Severino Leal was left in no man's land by his defense there! Roger Castro's late challenge caught a Matao SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Roger Castro helped the player get up and apologised. In the 79th minute, Roger Castro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Roger Castro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Severino Leal having to interfere. In a very dangerous position, a player in Matao SC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 89th minute. Penalty! In the 90th minute there was a penalty for Caraguata SS. Leopoldo Vasconcelos stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Severino Leal. 3-0. Severino Leal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roger Castro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Caraguata SS's Betinho Berger got control of the ball when Juan Sena tried to sneak it across the goal line. Caraguata SS's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
