Cristóvão Ramalho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nilmar Tande, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. Ricardo de Castro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Ricardo de Castro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cupaoba's supporters rose to their feet, but Ricardo de Castro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Adalberto Urbano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Cupaoba getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Edgar Melo hit a great ball. After 11 minutes, Clemente Teles mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cupaoba and the Caibros FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 11th match minute, Cupaoba was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Clemente Teles to maneuver through the defense. 21 minutes into the match, Cupaoba's goal looked a bit too open when Rafa de Alcântara came free, but Cristóvão Ramalho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Caibros FC's Adalberto Urbano got control of the ball when Gerson Freire tried to sneak it across the goal line. Luizão Bueno was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 36th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 38thth minute of the game Rafa de Alcântara who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cupaoba's Cristóvão Ramalho was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 40th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cupaoba's goalkeeper Cristóvão Ramalho, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. José Pedro de Carvalho hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. 43 minutes into the match, Caibros FC's Luizão Bueno broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After a rather tough play, Cupaoba's Clóvis Alagoano got a free kick in the 44th minute. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Gerson Freire received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Adalberto Urbano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 60th minute, one of Cupaoba:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Cupaoba. Luizão Bueno shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Caibros FC's Adalberto Urbano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gerson Freire in the 64th minute of play. After 65 minutes, Hílton Barreto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Caibros FC and the Cupaoba players grew even worse after the yellow card. Cristóvão Ramalho stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nilmar Tande's shot from short distance in the 70th minute. Cupaoba's José Pedro de Carvalho got his second yellow card of the match in the 71st minute. The referee ordered José Pedro de Carvalho off the ground. The supporters of Caibros FC booed when Cupaoba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Pedro de Carvalho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cupaoba's Cristóvão Ramalho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nilmar Tande in the 74th minute of play. 78 minutes into the match, Caibros FC's Nilmar Tande sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cristóvão Ramalho narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 79th match minute, Cupaoba was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Clemente Teles to maneuver through the defense. In the 80th minute Nilmar Tande shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristóvão Ramalho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Rafa de Alcântara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 83rd minute, Caibros FC's Rafa de Alcântara dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in Cupaoba's zone, Nilmar Tande stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cristóvão Ramalho came out of the goal and Nilmar Tande tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 91st minute, Ricardo de Castro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cristóvão Ramalho stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nilmar Tande's shot from short distance in the 93rd minute. Nilmar Tande received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Cristóvão Ramalho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rafa de Alcântara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Caibros FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
