Jupara SS's Umberto Correia got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dedé Trancoso who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 21stth minute tested the skills of Matías Pena when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 23 minutes into the match, Amanda's Almir Neves sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Zé Augusto Bertassi narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 26th minute, Dedé Trancoso fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After 27 played minutes Amanda got a freekick which was hit by Almir Neves. In the 30th minute of the match, Umberto Correia tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Matías Pena saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Juninho Pernambucano in the 33rd minute of play forced Jupara SS's goalkeeper Zé Augusto Bertassi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Jupara SS booed when Amanda was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Celso de Andrade didn't get a good kick on the ball. Umberto Correia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Matías Pena having to interfere. Jupara SS's Zé Augusto Bertassi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juninho Pernambucano in the 44th minute of play. In the 45th match minute, Jupara SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Waldemar Ramalho to maneuver through the defense. The corner ended in Celso de Andrade almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Jupara SS's Zé Augusto Bertassi did a great save. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Amanda's Matías Pena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Umberto Correia in the 52nd minute of play. Matías Pena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Umberto Correia in the 54th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Amanda's Maurício Breckenfeld got a free kick in the 58th minute. Matías Pena took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dedé Trancoso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Matías Pena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dedé Trancoso in the 63rd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Almir Neves in the 67th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Zé Augusto Bertassi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Juninho Pernambucano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zé Augusto Bertassi having to interfere. After 80 played minutes Almir Neves rounded Jupara SS's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-1. Zé Augusto Bertassi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Juninho Pernambucano in the 93rd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Almir Neves in the 95th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Zé Augusto Bertassi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience was convinced that Almir Neves's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zé Augusto Bertassi was relentless in the 99th minute of the game.
