Nilmar Valadares could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Ricardinho Cosme made a huge save. A collision led to Macae getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Geovânio Simão hit a great ball. Ricardinho Cosme showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nilmar Valadares in the 44th minute of the match. Benê Oliveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zé Augusto Machado having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Benê Oliveira made a kick off. Naldo Azevedo in the 52ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Digo Ramalho during the 88th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Guarda FC's Digo Ramalho got a free kick in the 89th minute.
