Fruteira's Dráusio da Fonseca played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eriberto Prata in the 19th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gugu Azevedo during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Caetano Cunha might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luiz Guilherme Baptista. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Caetano Cunha ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 24th minute Lúcio Rosado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Guilherme Baptista saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Caetano Cunha was the one to do the kick off. In the 63rd match minute, Fruteira was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eurico Galvão to maneuver through the defense. In the 65th play minute Fernando Cerezo came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Dráusio da Fonseca. 2-1. Dráusio da Fonseca was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Eriberto Prata showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-2 in the 71 minute of play. Eriberto Prata fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dráusio da Fonseca having to interfere.
