Dorian Neto's late challenge caught a Carvalhos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dorian Neto helped the player get up and apologised. After 4 played minutes Enchente SS got a freekick which was hit by Dorian Neto. Duda Sarmento made a fantastic save in the 5th minute, when Claudinho Senna sent off a good shot on target. Iuri Fantini kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. After 12 played minutes, Enchente SS's Chiquinho Félix shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Severino Severo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Enchente SS reached it. 30 minutes into the match, Enchente SS's Walmir Arantes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Severino Severo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpected shot in the 35th minute by Claudinho Senna got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Claudinho Senna was extremely unlucky when he, in the 37th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. An unexpectedly hard shot by Falcão Luz in the 44th minute of play forced Enchente SS's goalkeeper Duda Sarmento to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Walmir Arantes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Walmir Arantes to make the kick off. Claudinho Senna blasted a shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Duda Sarmento having to make a save. Beto de Toledo hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. When Falcão Luz came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Carvalhos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Falcão Luz couldn't finish the play. Severino Severo made a fantastic save in the 61st minute, when Eliseu de Godoy sent off a good shot on target. Enchente SS's Beto de Toledo collided with an opponent after 61 minutes. The hit was so violent that he fractured his leg. After 62 minutes, Alex Valladares mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Carvalhos and the Enchente SS players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 66th minute, Carvalhos's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Eliseu de Godoy fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 67th minute, Falcão Luz made a precise shot to the right of Duda Sarmento. Enchente SS's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Falcão Luz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Duda Sarmento read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. Enchente SS's Duda Sarmento played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudinho Senna in the 74th minute of play. 77 minutes into the match, Enchente SS's goal looked a bit too open when Falcão Luz came free, but Duda Sarmento reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 79th minute Falcão Luz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Duda Sarmento saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 80th match minute, Enchente SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Walmir Arantes to maneuver through the defense. In the 81st minute, Falcão Luz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Enchente SS getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Nildo Pereira hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Enchente SS's zone, Falcão Luz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Duda Sarmento came out of the goal and Falcão Luz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 86 minutes into the match, Carvalhos's goalkeeper Severino Severo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eliseu de Godoy. In the 91st minute the ball was on its way in behind Enchente SS's goalkeeper Duda Sarmento, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Enchente SS were furious when Dorian Neto was red carded, 95 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 95 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Enchente SS! In the 97th minute there was a penalty for Carvalhos. Walmyr Miranda stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Duda Sarmento. 3-0. For all the effort they put into the match, the Enchente SS players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Carvalhos.
