The wind increased when Gugu Vieira made the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Marcelo Diniz during the 56th minute. A collision led to Mendubim SS getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Gugu Vieira hit a great ball. Natã Rodrigues fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gernando Sabóia having to interfere. When the match clock showed 83 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Kléber Santana sped through Mendubim SS's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Gernando Sabóia. After 87 played minutes, Mendubim SS's Gerson Garcia shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Carlos Augusto Seco came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Mendubim SS reached it. Carlos Augusto Seco stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gugu Vieira's shot from short distance in the 89th minute. Natã Rodrigues received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Gernando Sabóia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tranqueiras's Natã Rodrigues got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gugu Vieira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Augusto Seco having to interfere. Mendubim SS's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
