Otávio de Mendonça started the match with the kick off. Romário Velloso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Magno Montenegro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 7th minute, Otávio de Mendonça fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. 9 minutes into the game, Edson Oliveira cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Yan Barreto was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Otávio de Mendonça managed to get in a good position for a shot. Inchu's supporters rose to their feet, but Otávio de Mendonça was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Yan Barreto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a little luck, Buriti SC's Yan Barreto got control of the ball when Edson Oliveira tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 15 played minutes Buriti SC got a freekick which was hit by Almir Koehler. 18 minutes into the match, Romário Velloso had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Magno Montenegro. Inchu's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Romário Velloso was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Magno Montenegro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from João Adolfo Gonçalves in the 25th minute of the match. After 28 played minutes Inchu got a freekick which was hit by Edson Oliveira. After 32 played minutes Inchu got a freekick which was hit by Aníbal Pimenta. Romário Velloso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Magno Montenegro having to interfere. João Adolfo Gonçalves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 39th minute Christiano Galvão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yan Barreto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The long shot by Francisco Batista in the 42nd minute really tested Yan Barreto's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Yan Barreto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Otávio de Mendonça, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. The supporters of Buriti SC booed when Inchu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aníbal Pimenta didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Edson Oliveira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Yan Barreto was relentless in the 76th minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Inchu's zone, Romário Velloso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. The referee ignored Buriti SC's protests and gave Júlio Loureiro a yellow card for diving instead. In the 85th minute, Júlio Loureiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Otávio de Mendonça came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Inchu fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Otávio de Mendonça couldn't finish the play. If Edson Oliveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Buriti SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but João Adolfo Gonçalves was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Buriti SC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
